Every roll on Hexed Blade
- +1% to +5% Range Expands the area that the equipped unit can cover.
- +1% to +10% Damage Raises the equipped unit’s listed damage within this roll range.
The range shows the possible value for that stat. The dice count on the equipment determines how many listed values can be rerolled or protected with a lock.
Who can equip Hexed Blade?
Exclusive to Shadow (Divine)
This Unit Equipment uses the extra exclusive slot unlocked by the evolved unit.
When should you lock a stat?
Use an Equipment Lock only when one existing roll is already valuable for the intended unit. Locking a mismatched Physical, Magical, critical, range, or SPA stat increases future reroll cost without improving the build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Hexed Blade
How do I get the Hexed Blade?
Unlike most Unit Equipment which drops from Story Mode maps, the Hexed Blade is crafted at the Crafting Station. You'll need 5 Blue Sprites + 5 Green Sprites + 5 Red Sprites + 10,000 Gold. It does not drop from any Story Mode map — crafting is the only way. This makes it one of the more resource-intensive Unit Equipment pieces to obtain, but the payoff is a significant damage boost for Shadow (Divine).
What stats should I aim for when rerolling the Hexed Blade?
The Hexed Blade has 2 rollable stats: Range (+1% to +5%) and Damage (+1% to +10%). Prioritize Damage first — aim for at least +8% Damage before locking. Shadow (Divine) is a pure DPS unit, so the Damage roll is far more impactful than Range. Once you have a good Damage roll, use an Equipment Lock on it, then reroll the Range stat. A perfect roll (+10% Damage / +5% Range) is rare — settle for +8%/+4% or better and save your reroll materials for other gear.
Is the Hexed Blade worth the crafting cost?
Yes — if Shadow (Divine) is your main DPS. The Hexed Blade is the only Unit Equipment for Shadow, meaning no alternative exists for the third slot unlocked after evolution. Leaving that slot empty means leaving up to +10% Damage on the table. The Sprite cost (5 Blue / 5 Green / 5 Red) is steep for early-game players, so prioritize crafting it once you have a consistent Sprite farming setup. If you're still building your team, farm Standard Equipment first and come back for the Hexed Blade once Shadow becomes your carry.
Can I use the Hexed Blade on other units?
No. The Hexed Blade is Unit Equipment — it can only be equipped on Shadow (Divine) and only in the third slot unlocked after evolving Shadow. You cannot equip it on unevolved Shadow, on any other unit, or in a Standard Equipment slot. If you pull it but don't have Shadow evolved yet, it'll sit in your inventory until you complete the evolution.
What's the best Standard Equipment to pair with the Hexed Blade?
Shadow (Divine) has 3 slots: 2 Standard + 1 Unit (Hexed Blade). For the Standard slots, pair the Hexed Blade with Katana (+1% to +10% Damage / +1% to +5% Range) for maximum DPS stacking, or Kunai (+1% to +8% Crit Chance / +1% to +10% Crit Damage) if you've invested in crit traits. A common endgame build is Hexed Blade + Katana + Kunai — all three pushing Shadow's damage output to its ceiling. If you only have one good Standard piece, prioritize Katana.
How do I farm the Sprites needed to craft the Hexed Blade?
Blue, Green, and Red Sprites drop from Story Mode maps and can also be crafted by combining lower-tier Sprites at the Crafting Station. The fastest method is to farm maps that drop Grey Sprites → craft up to Blue → craft up to Green → craft up to Red. Alternatively, mid-to-late game Story Mode stages drop Blue and Green Sprites directly. Check our Sprites item page for a full breakdown of drop sources and crafting chains.
How does the Hexed Blade compare to other Unit Equipment?
The Hexed Blade offers a straightforward Damage + Range boost, making it one of the simpler but highly effective Unit Equipment pieces. Here's how it stacks up against alternatives for other evolved units:
• Hexed Blade (Shadow): +1-10% Damage / +1-5% Range — highest raw damage ceiling among Unit Equipment
• Hair Bells (8th Sword): +1-10% Damage / +1-5% Range — same stats, different unit
• Spirit of the Moonblade (Reaper): +1-10% Crit Damage / +1-10% Crit Chance — better for crit builds
• Calamity's Eye (Puppet): +1-10% Damage / -1 to -5% SPA — better for attack speed builds
If Shadow is your main DPS, the Hexed Blade is non-negotiable.
What happens if I unequip or lose the Hexed Blade?
Equipment in Anime Expeditions is never destroyed when unequipped. You can freely swap the Hexed Blade on and off Shadow (Divine) — your stats and rolls are preserved. If you evolve Shadow back (not currently possible) or trade the unit, the Hexed Blade returns to your inventory. There is no scenario where you permanently lose a crafted equipment piece.
